The company Banskobystrický pivovar, a.s. is a producer of exceptional Slovak beer marketed under the Urpiner brand, distinguished by its original taste and brewed according to traditional recipes.

The brewery builds on a five hundred years‘ beer brewing tradition in the city under the Urpin hill in Central Slovakia. In May 2007, to restore the esteemed position, the brewery had in the past, the new management initiated a general renovation including restructuring of its technological equipment and revitalisation of sales and marketing activities. The new company invested more than 15 million EUR in the general renovation and modernisation of the technological equipment in the brewery. Following years of stagnation, the brewery has set out on the road to prosperity and development. Banskobystricky pivovar is a good example of how a Slovak company can produce an excellent product and, even in today's challenging times, support employment in the region

The uniqueness of Urpiner beer is further enhanced by its natural maturation process — depending on the beer type, it matures for up to seven weeks. This process results in a full-bodied flavour, balanced bitterness, distinctive crispness, and an overall harmonious character.

Crystal-clear water from the surrounding hills, Levický malt grown in the fertile fields of southern Slovakia with EU Protected Geographical Indication, and premium hops form the key pillars of Urpiner’s high quality.
